With years of experience as a successful interior designer and business owner, Debby Hall brings a rare combination of artistic vision, business expertise, creativity, and genuine care for client satisfaction. She attributes her business sense to her father and her creativity to her mother — an influence that continues to shape both her work and her approach to life. In real estate, that philosophy is simple: treat people with honesty, respect, and genuine care while guiding them through one of the largest financial decisions they will ever make.

“I can come in and visualize where there’s a problem or where there could be an improvement,” Debby explains. “That’s the design part of me, it’s always going to be there.” Just as important, she is deeply attuned to the emotional side of real estate. “I’m keenly aware of the emotions involved in downsizing or moving, as well as the challenges of finding that place that says, ‘you’re home.’ Real estate isn’t just a transaction. It’s an emotional experience as well as a financial one.”

Debby’s journey began with a degree in interior design from the University of Tennessee and a clear vision for her future. Her Atlanta-based design business thrived for more than three decades, with her work featured at the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Designer Showhouse and Christmas at Callanwolde, among other venues. As the industry shifted, Debby recognized it was time for a new challenge, one that would allow her to use her creative mind along with her keen business sense.

That next chapter led her to the Highlands-Cashiers Plateau. She first visited in 2004 with her husband. “We came up, drove around one weekend, and that was it,” she says. “We had a second home on Lake Blue Ridge and instantly became smitten with the Plateau, so a for-sale sign went up the next week!”

After decades of working closely with clients in their homes, Debby has developed an intuitive ability to help people understand their true priorities, even when they can’t yet articulate them. Her approach is methodical yet adaptable, grounded in understanding not just what clients say they want, but how they actually live. “This is a people business,” she says, “and I have lived that my entire career.”

What distinguishes Debby is her ability to help both buyers and sellers see potential. For sellers, she provides staging and preparation guidance that goes far beyond typical capabilities. For buyers, her background allows her to reveal possibilities others might overlook, helping them imagine not just what a home is, but what it could become.

Reflecting on the Plateau community, she says, "I love the spirit up here. There's something about this place that brings out the best in people. It's an amazing community where neighbors truly care about each other. There isn’t another place I would rather live!"
